Marlins recall Volstad, place Marinez on DL

07/25/2010 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Florida Marlins placed pitcher Jhan Marinez on the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-hander Chris Volstad from Triple-A New Orleans.

Marinez was 1-1 with a 6.75 earned run average in four relief appearances for the Marlins this year. He heads to the DL with a right elbow strain.

Volstad was called up to start Sunday's game against the Braves. In 17 starts this season, he is 4-8 with a 4.78 ERA.
